From Local Action to a European Stage: Pathways2Resilience Featured on CORDIS

There is a certain kind of energy that fills a room when 100 regions all realise, they are facing the very same challenges. We felt that energy earlier this year at our P2R Summit in Budapest, and this week, that momentum reached a new milestone.

We are delighted to share that Pathways2Resilience has been featured by CORDIS, the European Commission's primary platform for results from EU-funded research and innovation.

Being spotlighted by CORDIS is not simply a recognition of the project team; it is an acknowledgement of the 100 regions across 38 countries that have stepped up to meet the ambitions of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.

A Network at Full Strength

The CORDIS feature highlights the arrival of our second cohort of 62 regions. From the hills of Slovakia to the coastlines of Italy, these communities are not merely analysing data, they are protecting lives from heatwaves, floods, and droughts.

As Elina Bardram from the European Commission observed, Pathways2Resilience has become a "flagship initiative," translating climate theory into real-world action. Beyond the €210,000 grant each region receives, the true value lies in an 18-month journey of mentorship, the newly developed Adaptation Investment Cycle tools, and the power of structured peer learning.

The Budapest Milestone

Looking back at our February gathering in Budapest, it was clear that whilst the climate crisis is global, the solutions are fundamentally local. Budapest itself stands as a compelling example, drawing on Pathways2Resilience support to transform its approach to rainwater management and urban heat.

As project coordinator Thomas Koetz (Climate-KIC) noted, this new cohort brings renewed energy to Europe's resilience journey at a moment when slowing down is simply not an option.

We are proud to see our regions' work recognised on the European stage. The path to resilience is long, but it is one we are walking together.
